Associating a guest Wi-Fi account with a member Wi-Fi account

Updated over 3 months ago

When you activate a contract that includes configurable amenities (such as Wi-Fi amenities), you must complete amenity configuration to assign the amenities to specific members for their use. When you configure a member Wi-Fi amenity, you can link it to an existing guest Wi-Fi amenity, should the member have been using a guest Wi-Fi account before purchasing member Wi-Fi. Linking the two accounts allows the member to continue using the same login credentials they used with their guest Wi-Fi account.

This article explains associating a guest Wi-Fi account with a member Wi-Fi account using the amenity configuration screen and at the company level. However, you may have multiple types of amenities to configure or multiple types of data/Wi-Fi amenities to configure. For more information, see Configuring data/Wi-Fi amenities.

After you complete the amenity configuration process, Kube disconnects and reconnects the member's Wi-Fi when it moves the Wi-Fi account off of the guest Wi-Fi network and to the proper network. The member may experience a brief loss of connectivity, but they should not need to re-enter their Wi-Fi credentials unless they used a different email address for the guest network. If this is the case, the member must log in to the Wi-Fi using the new credentials provided on the Amenity Configuration Data/Wi-Fi screen.

Kube also removes the guest Wi-Fi account from guest Wi-Fi lists in Kube and instead displays the member Wi-Fi account on member Wi-Fi lists.

This article covers associating a guest Wi-Fi account with a member Wi-FI account either through the amenity configuration screen or at the company level.

NOTES:

  • If your organization has not purchased Yardi Kube Wi-Fi, Kube does not show data/Wi-Fi information.

  • Depending on your assigned role and permissions, and the version of Kube your organization uses, some or all of these menus or services may not be available or displayed.
