Setting a default contract type

Updated over 3 months ago

A contract type is a label that describes contract statuses. Kube uses New as the default contract type, and you can select a different default contract type as needed.

The default contract type is used for contracts when Kube automatically creates a contract for either a monthly booking or a Prospect or Member Portal purchase. The manual default contract type is used for contracts that have been manually created by an internal user. This article covers setting each of these default contract types. For more information about adding a contract type, see Adding a contract type.

This article is part of the Kube system setup flow. For more information, see Kube setup checklist.

NOTE: Depending on your assigned role and permissions, and the version of Kube your organization uses, some or all of these menus or services may not be available or displayed.

To set a default contract type

  1. Select your Personal Profile in the top menu and select System Settings from the drop-down menu. The Operator Profile screen appears.

  2. Select Custom Fields in the side menu and select the Contracts tab. The Contract Types screen appears.

  3. Click the Edit button.

  4. In the Default column, select the radio button next to the contract type you want to make the default.

  5. Click Save.

To set a manual default contract type

  1. Select your Personal Profile in the top menu and select System Settings from the drop-down menu. The Operator Profile screen appears.

  2. Select Custom Fields in the side menu and select the Contracts tab. The Contract Types screen appears.

  3. Click the Edit button.

  4. In the Manual Default column, click the square select button next to the contract type you want to make the manual default.

NOTE: A Manual Default Contract Type does not need to be set. If an internal user should select the contract type when creating a contract, leave this column unselected.

  5. Click Save.

TIP: The next step in the Kube system setup process is to add termination and discard types. For more information, see Adding a termination and discard type.
