A contract type is a label that describes contract draft statuses. Operators can use contract types to help understand contract trends and the needs of their companies. This article explains adding custom contract types specific to your organization. For more information about assigning a contract type to a contract, see Adding a contract type.
Kube comes with four default contract types:
New: A new contract for the company.
Renewal: A contract that renewed for an additional term.
Expansion: A contract that includes more amenities or services than the previous version.
Contraction: A contract that includes fewer amenities or services than the previous version.
This article is part of the Kube system setup flow. For more information, see Kube setup checklist.
NOTE: If you edit a contract type name, Kube updates the contract type name in all contracts it is assigned to. If you edit a default contract type name, Kube includes the original name in parentheses after the edited name on the contract Types screen. For example, if you change the name of the Expansion contract type to Extension, Kube displays Extension (Expansion).
You can archive contract types, but at least one must be active. If you archive a contract type that is assigned to an existing contract, the contract retains the contract type, but you cannot assign the archived contract type to any other contracts.
