Contracts Introduction

Updated over 3 months ago

Contracts are agreements with your companies that charge them for products and services your organization offers. A contract can include one-time charges (do not recur every month) or recurring charges (charged every month for the duration of the contract).

When you first create a contract, Kube creates a contract draft that you can edit before activating. Once activated, the contract bills the company for the goods and services included in it for the duration specified in the contract. Contracts can last for a set number of months or can renew according the auto renew settings you specify. If you end up not activating the contract, you can discard it.

If you need to make changes to an active contract, you can amend the contract. When you amend, Kube creates a contract draft with the current contract's details that you can edit. Once you have made the changes you need to make to the contract draft, you can activate it immediately or on the date you specify (up to 30 days in the past). On that date, Kube makes the amended contract the active version and bills your customers according to the new contract details.

Should you need to cancel an active contract, you can terminate the contract immediately or on a specified day. Once terminated, Kube cancels the company's services included in the contract and stops billing them for contract items.

This section describes contract tasks.

NOTE: You use contract approval workflows to control the types of tasks that your internal users can complete when activating, amending, and terminating contracts. For more information, see Contract Approval flow overview.
