Verifying the connectivity status of your property

Updated over 3 months ago

You can view the status of your property's routers, hardware, and data/Wi-Fi connections on the property's Data/Wi-Fi System Overview screen.

NOTES:

  • If your organization has not purchased Yardi Kube Wi-Fi, Kube does not show data/Wi-Fi information.

  • Depending on your assigned role and permissions, and the version of Kube your organization uses, some or all of these menus or services may not be available or displayed.

Kube shows whether your data equipment is online (green), offline (red), or alert (amber):

  • Circuits: Name of the circuit(s) provided by your internet service provider(s) that provides your property with internet access.

TIP: Click the circuit's name to see more information about the circuit. Kube opens the Circuit Usage screen filtered to show information about the circuit you selected.

  • System

    • VPN (Virtual Private Network): Shows the status of Kube's connection to the router and whether the two are successfully communicating.

    • ANS (Advanced Network Security): Shows the status of the device that associates members accessing Wi-Fi with their company's VLAN.

    • DRM (Secondary Backup Router): Shows the status of the backup router.

NOTE: The backup router checks with the main router every 60 seconds to confirm that the main router is still functional. If the main router goes offline, the backup router takes over for the main router to prevent internet interruption for your customers. If the backup router goes offline, Kube changes the color of the DRM alert light to amber.

  • Switches: Shows the status of the switch stack attached to the router.

NOTE: A switch connects from your property's router to one of your spaces or to a wireless router. Each switch stack can contain multiple switches.

  • Access Points: Shows all of the access points at your property.

NOTE: An access point can show an amber alert light for the following reasons:

    • More than 100 clients are connected to that access point.

    • The access point is experiencing 30% or more clients failing to connect to it.

    • The access point's Airtime Utilization is over 70%.

    • The access point is experiencing over 150 milliseconds of latency.

TIP: You can click the access point name to see more information about it. On the screen that appears, click values in the Clients column to see the members who are connected to the access point.

  • Wireless Networks: When there are access points at the property, shows the wireless networks at the property.

TIP: You can click View in the Devices column to see the devices connected to that wireless network.

To verify the connectivity status of your property

  1. Select Properties in the top menu.

  2. Locate the property in the grid and click the property's name. The Property Spaces screen appears.

  3. Select Data/Wi-Fi in the side menu. The Overview menu appears.

  4. Click the Refresh button to show the most recent connection status.

NOTE: Depending on the configuration of the router at your property, an offline notice may not require your attention. If you are unsure whether an offline notice requires your attention, contact Yardi technical support and see Data troubleshooting.

  5. Click the Logs button to see a list of internet status changes for the circuits.
