Adding a call authorization code

Updated over 4 months ago

You can require members to use call authorization codes when calling outside of your organization. When you assign a call authorization code to a member, the member must enter the code into their phone before placing a call outside of your organization.

NOTE:

  • If your organization has not purchased Yardi Kube Voice, Kube does not show voice information.

  • Your Kube role or permissions to access Kube functions determines whether you can access this menu.

Authorization code settings

  1. Select Customers in the top menu and select Companies from the drop-down menu.

  2. Locate the company in the grid and click the company's name. The Company Overview window appears. Click Detailed View.

  3. Select Voice in the side menu and select the Authorization Codes tab. Click the Edit button.

  4. In the Administration section, complete the fields. See the end of this article for a screen reference.

    1. In the Restricted column, select Mandatory Usage in the drop-down menu next to members you want to require to use a calling code.

  5. Click Save.

NOTE: Only members with voice services assigned to them appear in this section. If you selected Account Code in the Administration section, you can also select Optional (FAC-based) Usage to allow your members to use feature access codes (FAC) associated with the phone system. For more information about feature access codes your members can use with the phone system, contact Yardi technical support.

Type

Select the type of authorization code you want to use. Account Code and Authorization Code work almost identically, with the only difference being that Account Code allows you to select Optional (FAC-based) Usage in the Restricted column.

NOTE: If you select Deactivated, Kube does not require any members to use a code to make calls outside of your organization.

TIP: We recommend selecting Authorization Code.

Number of Digits

How many digits long the account/authorization codes are.

CAUTION: If codes have already been added, do not change the length of the code, as the existing codes will no longer work.

Allow Local and Toll Free Calls without Account/Authorization Code

Select to allow members to make local and toll free calls without using a calling code.
