Updating a company's public IP address

Updated over 3 months ago

After a company purchases a public IP address through a contract, and you have configured the public IP address for the company, you can update the company's public IP address as needed without amending the company's contract. For more information, see Configuring a company's public IP address.

When you select a new public IP address, Kube does not retain any existing configuration from the original public IP address.

This article is part of the Kube data-Wi-Fi setup flow. For more information, see Kube setup checklist.

NOTES:

  • If your organization has not purchased Kube IT Management or higher, Kube does not show data/Wi-Fi information.

  • Depending on your assigned role and permissions, and the version of Kube your organization uses, some or all of these menus or services may not be available or displayed.

  • Only those familiar with configuring public IPs should complete this task. We do not recommend using a public IP when a company has a load balanced service plan. Contact your IT department or Yardi technical support if you are unsure of what you need to do. For more information about service plans, see Setting a default internet service plan.

To update a company's public IP address

  1. Select Customers in the top menu and select Companies from the drop-down menu.

  2. Locate your company in the data grid and click the company's name. The Company Essentials window appears. Click Detailed View.

  3. Select Data/Wi-Fi in the side menu and select the Public IP tab.

  4. Locate the public IP address in the grid and click the Edit button.

  5. In the slide out menu, click the Edit button again. The New Public IP field appears.

  6. Select the new IP address from the New Public IP drop-down menu that displays available IP addresses.

  7. Click Save. A confirmation request appears.

CAUTION: Changing the public IP address removes any configuration that exists for the original public IP address.

  8. Click OK.

TIP: The next step in the Kube data-Wi-Fi setup process is to set a default internet service plan. For more information, see Setting a default internet service plan.
