Deferred income is revenue or income that is not yet earned because the goods or services have not been delivered to the customer. Kube offers the optional service Deferred Income, which allows your organization to track this type of income. This service is intended for organizations subscribed to Yardi Voyager with this setting activated. For more information on setting up deferred income in Voyager, reach out to your Voyager representative or see "Deferred Income" in the Yardi Voyager International User's Guide.
This article offers a brief accounting and menu overview of the functionality to expect when this service is enabled.
NOTE: Depending on your assigned role and permissions, and the version of Kube your organization uses, some or all these menus or services may not be available or displayed. This article is intended for Yardi Kube Space Management Professional subscribers.
GL Accounts
Once you have set up deferred income in Voyager, the charge code created appears in System Settings > Accounting > GL Accounts. The new GL Account should appear as a Regular account type with a Debit normal balance. Additional settings vary based on your organization's accounting setup.
Open Charges
When creating an open charge, the post month is set as the first of the month the charge is created in. For example, if the charge is for December 15th, 2025, the post date of the charge sent to Voyager is December 1st, 2025.
Credit Notes
The charges added to credit notes have the same functionality as the open charges. If the charge date is December 15th, 2025, the post date of the charge sent to Voyager is December 1st, 2025.
