GL Accounts & Charge Codes Introduction

Updated over 3 months ago

A GL account is an account that contains all transactions for charge codes that are linked to it. A charge code links charges to the GL account they should post to and serves as the bridge between charges and GL accounts. General ledger (GL) accounts and charge codes work together to help you track and break down your financial transactions. You can customize GL account and charge code settings that control how Kube functions.

For example, you could assign Charge Code 1 to Parking and Charge Code 2 to Coffee Mugs. Then, you could link both charge codes to the Amenity Income GL account. Although Parking and Coffee Mugs have unique charge codes, charges associated with both amenities total into the Amenity Income GL account because both charge codes are linked to that GL account. You could then break down the Amenity Income GL account by income for Parking and income for Coffee Mugs using their unique charge codes.

This section describes GL accounts and charge codes.
