Charges Introduction

Updated over 3 months ago

You can manually add one-time charges from the Charges screens. From these screens, you can add four types of charges:

  • Amenity: A charge for an amenity at the retail, contract, or future one-time price (all of which you can edit).

  • Credit: A negative charge for an amenity at the retail, contract, or future one-time price (all of which you can edit) that reduces the company's ledger balance by the total charge amount.

  • Security Deposit: A charge that ties the total charge amount to an amenity, contract, or (if you select custom) the default security deposit charge code set in the Account Settings screen in the System Settings section.

  • Custom: A charge that charges the total amount you enter to the charge code you select.

When you add a charge through the Charges screens, Kube checks the company's automatic invoicing setting on the company's Billing Options screen. If automatic invoicing is set to Yes, Kube sets charges you manually create to automatically invoice. If automatic invoicing is set to No, Kube does not set charges you manually create to automatically invoice. You can change a charge's invoicing option by editing the charge. For more information, see Setting whether invoicing is automatic and Reviewing and editing charge information.

Charges must be invoiced before they show on a company's ledger and before they can be paid. For more information, see Previewing and generating an invoice.

The remainder of the articles in this section describe charge tasks.

NOTE: Kube filters the Charges screens to only show information for the internal user's default property when the screen loads. Use the property filter at the top of the screen to show information for a different property or for multiple properties. For more information, see Using filters.
