Hours vs. credits overview

Updated over 3 months ago

Members and prospects can purchase hours or credits that they use to make space bookings. When you create hours/credits amenities to sell, you can decide on the cost of the hours or credits your members purchase to make bookings.

If your organization uses Kube Space Management or Space Management Professional, you must choose whether your organization uses hours or credits for space bookings before you start the onboarding process. Each option gives your organization different flexibilities in customizing how you want to handle space bookings.

Hours

When you select hours, your members and prospects use hours to book your spaces. Once purchased, an hour can be used to book one hour in any space the member is allowed to book in.

For example, if one hour at a dedicated desk costs $25 per hour retail and a meeting room costs $100 per hour retail, a member could book one hour in either space. You could use space groups to designate that the member's hour can only be used to book dedicated desks, which would prevent the member from booking in the meeting room.

Credits

When you select credits, your members use credits to book your spaces, and you can customize the monetary value of credits for each of your spaces.

For example, you could set a dedicated desk to cost $25 per hour retail, and you could set the value of 1 credit in this space to equal $1. In this case, a member would pay 25 credits for one hour.

You could also set a conference room to cost $50 per hour retail, and you could set the value of 1 credit in this space to $0.50. In this case, a member would pay 100 credits for one hour.
